aboutus

The Fellowship for the Advancement of Cultural Education of Students (FACES) ,a multicultural UNT organization, aims to serve as a connecting platform between the student population at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) and their respective cultural traditions by  integrating social events and community service with accommodation for cultural diversity and enlightenment. We host an array of different cultural events, from Garba,  Dia de los Muertos, the Lunar New Year celebration, and our largest annual cultural showcase Worldfest, where  cultural UNT organizations get to perform alongside TAMS students. We offer cultural outreach through several volunteering opportunities, ranging from  Refugee Volunteering to giving microloans through KIVA and our Pen Pels program. In addition, we focus on the cultural arts with our Henna group, cultural magazine and our cultural acapella group, TAMS Masala. We also have two societies, History and Language. Essentially, FACES is a way to bring the UNT and TAMS community together and to welcome and celebrate all the cultures our community originates from.
